I am the proud principal of Codington Elementary School and thrilled to be here again for the 24-25 school year. This is my 26th year in education and school is still my favorite place to be! This is my second year at Codington and I love this school!
I grew up in a small town in North Carolina and moved to Wilmington to attend UNCW. Like many people who attend school here, I decided this was a great place to live after graduation. I spent 18 years teaching in the classroom in grades 2, 4, 5, and 6 and I have worked at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I was an assistant principal and principal in Brunswick County for seven years before coming to Codington. I have lived very near Codington my entire time in Wilmington and have always dreamed of working here, so this is truly a dream come true for me to be here!
My husband, Jerry, and I have five children and four grandchildren between the two of us. We love living here and enjoy live music, the outdoors, and spending time with our family. Our oldest granddaughter is a kindergartener this year right here at Codington.
My goal is for Codington to be the BEST school in New Hanover County! I believe this is a wonderful place for students and staff! Please feel free to reach out with any questions at any time. You can reach me at pamela.biggs@nhcs.net.

Hello! My name is Michelle Pashkevich, and I'm excited to begin my second year here at Codington Elementary. Originally from Long Island, I grew up with my parents, older brother Richie, and our beloved dog, Snoopy.
I attended Penn State University (WE ARE!) where I earned my degree in Kindergarten and Elementary Education, with a minor in Math and Science. I furthered my education with a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from George Mason University, and I also hold certification in Gifted Education.
My teaching career began as a 5th grade advanced academic classroom teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia, where I spent six years teaching students in fifth, sixth, and third grades. Before joining New Hanover County, I worked as an Advanced Academic Resource Teacher for eight years. My career continued at Mary C. Williams as the Gifted Education Specialist. With a total of 17 years of experience nurturing and supporting gifted learners, I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential.
In July 2021, my husband Randy and I relocated to Wilmington, drawn by the prospect of raising our family in such a beautiful community. We have three wonderful children: Sonya (14), Hudson (5), and Maddox (3).
Codington Elementary has already proven to be a warm and welcoming environment, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a dedicated team. I look forward to working with your children and supporting your family throughout our time together at Codington Elementary.
